• Get in touch with us – this is the first step and is where we will help you understand how much you can borrow and, importantly, what kind of house you can afford
• Save for a deposit – this is generally 5% to 20% of the overall house price and of course the higher the deposit, the better mortgage options you are likely to have. Of course, there are still lots of people who purchase property with a 5% deposit, so this really doesn’t have to be a stumbling block for you
• Solicitors and checks – Once you’ve got your deposit and an idea of what you can borrow, you can put an offer on a house and instruct a solicitor to start their checks
• Moving in – The most exciting, but also the hardest, part – this is where you will need to consider removals, furnishings, insurance and more
